This place is amazing. we tried it last week for the first time and already came back again for a second time. They have a huge selection of ice cream/sweets, & they serve food as well. The store was very clean and the employees were super nice. We will be back soon!

While out on road trips for our son’s baseball games, we often try out local privately owned ice cream shops. On a recent trip to Norristown, we tried out La Sorpresa and we were very happy with the experience. It’s a real nice, family-friendly spot with plenty of parking. They have tons of option to choose from, including hot dogs, nachos, ice cream, water ice, popsicles, unique soft drinks, and candy. The ice cream, water ice and popsicles are homemade, and they had very creative flavors. We tried the ice cream sundaes with churros, which were amazing. They made the churros fresh for us, so they took a few minutes to prepare, but it was well worth the wait. The pistachio ice cream was awesome. Their popsicles looked really good, with fresh fruit inside. I’ll have to try that next time. Service was very pleasant and helpful. And compared to many other privately owned ice cream shops, it was actually a good value! Seating inside seemed a bit limited, but we were visiting in off peak hours, so we didn’t have any problems. Next time we’re in Norristown for a game, we’ll be stopping off at La Sorpresa!

ADDICTIVE!!! FAVORITE ICE CREAM IN TOWN!!! First of all this place is at the top of my list for ice cream, they have so many other special treats but the ice cream is so smooth and creamy. My go-to is their Rum Raisin and cheese flavor. The variety feels endless and if you can't choose, order a funnel cake or their micheladas! Nice place to sit in and enjoy as a family, with friends, or even on a date. Service is always kind and they will let you try as many flavors as you want.

MUST-VISIT, NEW HIDDEN GEM IN NORRISTOWN! I came here thinking there was only ice cream, but the place lived up to its name- I was shocked to see just how much they offered! The customer service was excellent, and the ladies preparing our food were very friendly. I plan on coming back. PARKING: Parking was free in a spacious lot. THE LOOK: Brightly lit spacious restaurant, small tables seat 4. I came in with a bigger group, but we could push the tables together until we left. The bathroom was good and clean. THE FOOD: I initially thought I’d only be finding ice cream here, so I was surprised to see the menus FULL of so many different options for sweets, savory snacks, and lunch foods! Besides ice cream, they had hotdogs, paninis, popcorn, cotton candy, chips, and basically everything. Even picky eaters can find something they like at an excellent price. The ice cream is handmade, so be aware it has a unique taste compared to store-bought ice cream. It’s fresh and sweet without tasting like pure sugar/ syrup. You can actually distinguish between the different flavors. The group I was with ordered the following. I wrote descriptions of what I tasted: 1. Nachos 2. Monte Cristo Panini- Mozzarella, turkey, fresh tomatoes, and lettuce on whole grain bread. Lays potato chips came included on the side. 3. Chicken Cesar Panini 4. Banana Split Waffle- Banana ice cream on a warm waffle topped with strawberries, syrup, and whipped cream. The ice cream tasted so good! 5. Snickers Waffle- Snickers ice cream on a warm waffle topped with bananas, peanut butter syrup, and peanuts. I’m not a chocolate ice cream fan, but I liked this one. It had just the right amount of cocoa/chocolate. 6. Crepe with berries- Fresh berries folded in a crepe with Nutella, topped with whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle. The crepe was huge and delicious. 7. Cookies and Cream ice cream in a waffle cone bowl 8. Coconut Paletta (ice cream bar) - The Palette was a good size, sweet, and came with a little holder so that if it melted, it wouldn’t drip onto your fingers. 9. Oreo Milkshake 10. Cucumber and Lemon juice- The juice has a strong green veggie smell but was surprisingly sweeter than expected. 11. Pineapple Juice- Sweet Pineapple juice blended with water. It was very refreshing 12. Cotton Candy As you can imagine from my review, I highly recommend this place!!

I will definitely be returning to La Sorpresa to try out some of their other treats. I got a Mangonada which was a heaping concoction of mango chunks, mango sorbet, chamoy, tajin, and spicy gummies. Next time I go, I'm going to bring a cooler to bring home a few of their dozens of flavors of paletas. The store is clean and bright and the servers were polite and efficient.

They have so many ice cream flavors and popsicles. The ice cream taste fresh and the interior of the store is so cute. They have plenty of seating for you and your family to enjoy your sweet treats. They also sell latino candies and pints of ice cream to go home. When ever I am at the elmwood zoom I will be coming here for ice cream. I got the Ducks De Leche and pistachio

Stumbled across this hidden gem in Norristown while waiting for the shuttle to the elmwood park zoo. This place has so many options from fresh juices, homemade ice cream, popsicles, ice cream, desserts and lunch options. The service is awesome too , the person helping us offered different samples to see what we would like before purchasing and explained all the ingredients in certain options. The interior is so cute and colorful , definitely feel like your transported to Mexico when you walk inside. The crepe was amazing and light and the mangonada was spicy, sour and sweet. The perfect combination, will definitely be back to try more things !
